How to Fix a Leaky Delta Faucet Fast

Do you want to learn how to fix a leaky Delta bathroom faucet? When either the rubber seat or spring go bad, you’ll see your faucet drip. In this video we’ll show you how to replace the stem unit and the rubber seat and springs.

You’re going to need the Delta seat and spring repair kit for this repair. Before you go to the store you should take apart your faucet and remove the old seat & spring. Save yourself some grief by taking these parts with you to Lowe’s or Home Depot.

HOT TIP: Once you get the faucet handle off you’ll see the cartridge. Take a picture of the cartridge configuration so that you know how it should be replaced.

0:12 Unscrew the faucet handle
0:23 Loosen the set screw and the lock nut to access the stem unit
0:52 Make a note of the orientation of the stem unit for replacement
1:17 Use pliers to remove the rubber seat and spring
1:30 Assemble the seat and spring correctly
1:54 Replace seat and spring with pliers and reassemble the faucet
