How to Install an Elkay Faucet, Soap Dispensers and Drain

Watch Ken, Elkay® Product Expert install a single hole kitchen faucet, soap dispenser and drain into an Elkay top mount kitchen sink.

(0:49) All you’ll need from your toolbox is a wrench and if you’re installing a disposer, you’ll also need a screwdriver. Pick up some plumber’s putty for the drain, turn off water to the area and you’re all set.
(0:59) If you’re replacing the faucet in your current sink, first look underneath and count the pre-drilled holes to ensure there are enough openings to accommodate your new faucet and accessories. Keep in mind a deck plate or extra accessories can cover extra holes but you can’t add new holes to a stainless sink.
(1:16) Thread the hoses through the faucet opening in your new sink.
(1:20) Tighten down the faucet hardware.
(1:24) Place a small bead of plumber’s putty around the drain strainer, pressing firmly against the putty.
(1:31) Place and secure the rubber gaskets and threaded flange to the underside of the sink drain and tighten the hardware.
(1:41) If you have a garbage disposer, install the mounting bracket at this time, according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
(1:48) Once the sink has been installed, (See Elkay’s instructional video, “How To Install a Sink” for details.)
(1:54) It’s time to connect the supply lines to your home’s water lines and connect the trap to the drain.
(2:00) If the placement of the drain in your sink has changed, you may need to cut down, add to, or otherwise adjust the existing drainpipes.
(2:08) Turn the water supply back on and check for leaks.
(2:11) Next, unscrew and remove the spray head from the hose assembly.
(2:15) Flush the faucet water line with warm water for one minute.
(2:20) Check for leaks and re-tighten any connections. Be careful not to over tighten.
(2:25) Reinstall the spray head by hand tightening it back onto to the spray hose.
(2:30) Follow Elkay’s installation instructions included with your faucet and you can’t go wrong. And if you have any questions during the installation, we’re here to help: just call 1-800-476-4106 or email CustCare@elkay.com.
