How to Install an Under Sink Water Filter

Our water quality specialist Mike shows how easy it is to install the American Plumber DW-600 undersink water filter to help reduce lead, cryptosporidium cysts, giardia cysts, lindane, atrazine,
chlorine, bad taste and odor, and sediment in your drinking water – all without the waste and expense of buying bottled water!

To begin with, you’ll want to ensure there’s enough space under the counter/sink, keeping in mind the extra room you’ll need to replace the filter cartridge. Once the ideal location has been determined, it’s
best to install the filter faucet first, and then mount the bracket.

After the water supply is shut off, the angle supply adapter is installed, and the supply connected to it. Plastic tubing is used to make the connection between the supply adapter and the filter, as well as between the filter and the faucet.

Once the filter has been locked into place on the bracket and the faucet hooked up to it, the unit is ready to test. Turn the water back on slowly, and don’t open the supply adapter valve all the way – this keeps the valve from getting locked in the open position. Barring any leaks, you’re ready to go!
