UNDERSINK WATER HEATER INSTALL – Kingspan Undersink Heater

How to install a point of use water heater under a sink. If you need hot water in a kitchenette and can’t get a hot water supply from the tank, a point of use (or undersink) water heater is a great way to solve the problem. I show you how to install the water, what considerations you should have with the electrical supply, water supply and pressure relief valve discharge, finishing with a lovely song about what we’ve learnt.

We today are going to be fitting an under sink water heater in our little kitchenette that we’ve got here today. The under sink water heater that I’m fitting is a Kingspan. We’ll have a look at the actual details of that in a minute. So we’re going to be talking about pressure relief. We’re going to be talking about expansion. We’re going to be talking about how we actually just fit it in a tight space because it’s under a sink, it’s always gonna be a tight space. So I’m going to show you from start to finish, how to do this job and what you should be thinking about as and when you’re doing it and how to make your pipe work look nice. How to make it nice and neat. That’s what’s really important. Please follow us on Instagram, guys, ’cause I do lots of stories that look just like this.
So first up before we begin, let’s just unbox this lovely little water heater we’ve got here. Polystyrene typical, let’s get that out of the way. We’ve actually got the main body of our water heater just here, like so. Oh, dear. Now we want to be careful when we put it down like this because the actual nobs and dials for this water heater are on the front. Let’s whip this off and then we can have a very quick look at the water heater itself. So, we’ve got our temperature adjustment on here, you can hear the thermostat clicking on there already. We’ve got our on and off switch as well and that’s pretty much it really for the front of that, really, really simple. The hot and cold end denoted by, guess what, blue and red, absolute crackers. And we’ve got our clips at the back for our wall bracket, so that’s that. Whatever you do, ‘kay, when you put that box down make sure you check underneath it. Check underneath because if you lift up the last little bit of polystyrene, you’re gonna find underneath, number one, heres your bracket, your wall bracket and also we’ve got our high pressure relief valve here as well.
